In 2022, the Association of Irrigation Acceleration Platform (AIAP), successfully setting up the Water Productivity Improvement In Practice (Water-PIP) Service Center for Kenya. The Center then implemented a one year project funded by the Stichting IHE Delft Institute for Water Education (IHE-Delft) as part of the DUPC2 Programme, WaterPIP top-up phase 1. Through the project, we were able to contribute to the customization of FAO’s WAPOR (Water Productivity through Open access of Remotely sensed derived data) tool. We developed databases, scripts, protocols and applied WAPOR to predict Water Productivity (WP) and crop yields for seven project sites. These were; Mwea Irrigation scheme, Kibirichia in Meru, Kibwezi in Makueni, Ramisi in Kwale, Perkerra in Baringo, Ahero and West Kano in Kisumu. These outputs and results of these exercise were published and disseminated widely.
